In watching both "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Last Crusade", analyze the theme of good vs. evil. Please use examples from both films to illustrate your topic.
The theme of good vs. evil in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Last Crusade" are similar. In both movies the Nazis are the bad guys. Greed is also an evil in both movies, Elsa and Donavan die because they are greedy about the grail and eternal life in "The Last Crusade". In "Raiders of the Lost Ark" the Nazis, particularly Hitler, wants the power that comes from it. In both movies there's back stabbers, the monkey in "Raiders of the Lost Ark", and Elsa and Donovan in "The Last Crusade".
Both of the Indiana Jones movies "Raiders of the Lost Ark", and "The Last Crusade" are classic good vs. evil movies. In the first one they have the damsel in distress where Indiana saves Marion. Also they have Indiana who is the local hero who always tries to do the good thing. Also in both movies they go against the Nazi's who are known to be a bad guy. We also see that Indiana is known to be a good guy.
Throughout both of these films there is a good vs. evil theme. In both the movies Indiana Jones was up against the evil Nazis. The Nazis in both movies were very greedy and only cared about getting the final treasures, the ark and holy grail. Each movie they had Indiana lead them to the treasures and each time the Nazis ended up obtaining the grail and ark and each time most if not all of them ended up dying. The Nazis also wanted the treasures so they could have the powers of god. Indiana mainly wanted to discover the treasures for the historical value of each object and definately wouldn't have used the power for bad. Both movies have a great good vs. evil theme.
Both movies display as the Nazis as the ultimate evil in the quest for ultimate power. Though they do have a bigger role in the Raiders of the Lost Ark than in the Last Crusade. Both movies have men who aren’t Nazi’s but are willing to work with them in order to acquire what they desire. Jones seems to always be around to foil the Nazis plans; I can see why they hate him so much. Not to mention that for an Archeologist Jones has a knack for killing off Nazis.
In both movies the good (in this case Indiana Jones) was followed/harassed by the bad, which in both movies are Nazi’s. Both movies have a back stabber, which allows the Nazi’s to constantly be with or at least not far behind Indiana Jones and his quest. Both Good/Evil were searching for the same thing, but intended on using them for different reasons. The evil in Raiders of the Lost ark wanted the ark for it’s powers, but Indiana wanted it in a museum. In the Last Crusade, evil wanted the Holy Grail for everlasting life, and Indiana wanted the grail in a museum, and to save his father
In "Raiders of the Lost Ark" Indiana Jones fights against evil by killing nazis, going against his enemy Renee Belloq, and saving his girlfriend's life multiple times. While his opponents are attempting to find the Ark to steal it for their own benefit,Indiana is searching for it because it holds the key to humanly existence, similar to the second movie where everyones trying to find the fountain of youth.
Both of the movies represent good vs evil. In Raiders of the lost ark indiana wants the ark he wants to see whats inside of it and in the last crusade he wants the holy grail. But in both movies theres always the evils like the nazis that represent evil. And also elsa and donavan were evil because they betrayed Indiana throughout everything. Indiana was the good guy in all of this.
Both Indiana Jones “Raiders of the lost ark” and “The Last Crusade” are the normal good vs. bad movies. They both show Indiana, the good guy, fighting against not only the Nazi, but also the brotherhood of the Cruciform sword, a secret group to protect the Holy Grail. In the first movie Indiana Jones save Marion after being captured, and gives the ark to the Nazi. The soon face the rash of the ark for using it in the way of evil. In “The Last Crusade” he looks for the Holy Grail. He prevails because he doesn’t let the pride of getting the grail over come him.
Both "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Last Crusade" have strong good vs. evil themes in them. In both movies, Indiana is working for a greater good to rescue important religious artifacts from evil Nazis who want them to use for evil. However, the good vs. evil theme in both of the movies goes much deeper than that. Both movies have someone who wants the artifacts just for greed, in "Raiders", it is Bellock, who wants the Ark just for having it, and for using it for his own purposes, and in "Last Crusade", it is Donovan who wants the Grail just for immortality. This is a level of greed beneath the Nazis, because they both want them for their own purposes. Also, the Nazis want these for their own power to help take over the world. The Good part of both of these movies is the people on Indiana Jones' side. They are fighting against the Nazis and the other evil characters, even if they, especially Indiana, don't know, or don't want to, fight on the side of good in the first place. This is how the theme of good vs. evil appears in the Indiana Jones.
The theme in both movies"Raiders of the last ark" and "The last crusade" Indiana is either fighting against the nazis or very greedy people. In the last crusade 2 people went behind Indiana's back and used him to find the holy grail. but in the end greed got to them and killed them both in the end. As in the "raiders of the last ark" Hitler wanted power so he sent people to find it. And everyone in the in the end dies except for indiana. Most of the people who go for the treasure don't know the history behind it. As for indiana, he knows the dangers of the treasure which keeps him alive.
in both of the indiana jones movies, he fights against the evil nazis and the people that want to keep the treasures for their selves, indiana also battled against people who found the necklace and wanted to keep them instead of putting it in the museum.
